Here are a few tips and tricks to get you started.
Either click on (a) the top-left horn logo, or on (b) FORUM in the horizontal menu at the top, to get back to the main forum page where the categories are listed next to their icons:
Whenever you click on a topic in a category, it will always take you to your last read post in the topic. Use the timeline on the right of the last-read post to take you to the top of the topic or anywhere in between.
Click on the dot at the bottom to of the timeline to watch, track or ignore the topic. These options will pop up:
Press any Reply button to open the editor panel at the bottom of your browser.
Continue reading (and even navigate to different topics) while you compose your reply; minimize the editor for more room. Drafts will automatically be saved as you write.
To reply to a specific post click the reply directly under the post. To reply to the topic in general, click the reply at the very bottom of the thread:
Insert a quote
To insert a quote, select the text you wish to quote and highlight it with your mouse, then press the Quote button that pops up. Repeat for multiple quotes.
Notify someone about your reply
To notify someone about your reply, mention their name. Type @ to begin selecting a username and select their name from the pop-up menu that appears.
Insert a link in the edit window and a thumbnail picture and summary will appear to the right in the preview window. You can insert the link into the title box to start a topic or in the text of a post as a reply.

There are action buttons at the bottom of each post:
Click to expand and see all action items
Click link icon and add posts with the following pop-up:
Flag troublesome posts for review
Go to drop down menu in top-right to see saved bookmarks:
Click if this reply solves the problem
When someone is talking directly to you — by replying to you, quoting your post, mentioning your @username, or even linking to your post, a number will immediately appear over your profile picture docked at the top right. Select it to access your notifications.
Any topic you’ve actively participated in — by creating it, replying to it, or reading it for an extended period — will be automatically tracked on your behalf, and will show an unread post count indicator.
Notification level can also be set per category. To change any of these defaults, see your user preferences.
